Hargreaves Land smashes 50 mile cycling relay challenge for charity

Representatives from Hargreaves Land were pleased to take part in a 50-Mile Team Relay Circuit Cycling Challenge at the weekend to help raise money for charity.

The event was organised by Peter Duffy Limited, the contractor at our Unity Yorkshire joint venture scheme, which is celebrating its 50th year in business by raising £50,000 for good causes through a variety of events.

Hargreaves Land made a generous donation from its CSR fund, as well as team members Andrew Johnson and David Bend participating in the relay challenge, which took place at the BKCAT Cycle Circuit in Wakefield.

Andrew Johnson, Head of Asset Management at Hargreaves Land, commented: “Hargreaves Land is delighted to have been able to support this fantastic fund raising initiative which proved to be a great day with lots of support and enthusiasm from both riders and spectators.”

Rob Hudson, Commercial Director at Peter Duffy, said: “We just wanted to pass on our thanks from all of us at Peter Duffy Ltd. Without your attendance and enthusiasm yesterday our event would have been much less of a success, we hope you all enjoyed the day. Everyone was certainly putting the effort in for the full duration which was great to see.”

Money raised from the various events will be split between five charities at the end of the year including; Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation, Water Aid, Wakefield Hospice and The Lighthouse Club.
