Brady, how long have you worked at Hargreaves Land and please describe your role within the firm?
I joined Hargreaves Land at the end of April 2024 as a Development Surveyor based out of the Leeds office. My role is to support the delivery of Unity in Doncaster, one of the largest mixed-use regeneration and infrastructure projects in the UK. I’ll also be actively pursuing new land and development opportunities across the Central Region.
What originally attracted you to a career in the property sector?
My dad has been involved in property for most of his career so it was often the talk of our house growing up. At around the time of sixth form when choosing which degree to do at university, it was a tough decision between Sport Science and Real Estate but in the end, I decided to go down the property route and have no regrets.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy the mixture of being in the office, the ability to get out on site visits and the networking and socialising that the property industry offers. Being relatively new to the development sector, I’m particularly looking forward to seeing a project through from start to finish – the initial acquisition of land, through to the completed development which creates a new community for people to live and work. Knowing that I’ve played a part in that will feel highly rewarding.
What projects are you currently working on?
I’ve been spending time at Unity where I met with our JV partners, Waystone, and conducted a site visit and walkover. It was impressive to see the progress so far and I’m excited to see how it unfolds over the coming years. The team has been receiving plenty of new acquisition opportunities from various agents which I’ve been reviewing and working on bids. I also have a trip up to Edinburgh planned in June to see Blindwells, our flagship residential and commercial development in East Lothian.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Of course, my recent move to Hargreaves Land! Passing my APC was also a really proud moment (or more of a relief), especially at the time of relocating to Birmingham and starting a new job.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself that people may not know.
My family heritage involves both Irish and Indian roots which often surprises people. Although I haven’t visited India yet, I am looking forward to exploring it at some point in the future.
When you’re not at work what do you like to do?
I play 11-a-side football for a local team which involves training once a week and then a game Saturday morning. Sticking with football, I’m a Sheffield United supporter and try getting to games when I can – hopefully we’ll start winning a few in the Championship next season. Aside from that, I’m very close with my family and love spending time with my two nephews.
Describe your dream holiday
I’m wanting to do more trips further afield and hoping to travel South America towards the end of the year – it’s been high on my list for a while!
Name your top 3 movies of all time.
