Positive news for East Ayrshire residential scheme

Hargreaves Land is very pleased to announce that planning permission in principle has been secured for a residential development at land in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, subject to signing of a Section 75 Legal Agreement.

The 8.5 acre site at Hillcrest in Kilmarnock is allocated for residential development in the adopted East Ayrshire Local Development Plan 2 with an indicative capacity of 79 units.

Receiving both planning officer and elected member support at planning committee on Friday 31st January, the residential development will include an element of affordable housing, to be delivered to the market through a discounted for sale arrangement.

Ross Macdonald, senior development surveyor for Hargreaves Land said “I welcome the decision to grant planning permission in principle for residential development, subject to signing of a Section 75 legal agreement, at Hillcrest, Kilmarnock. This project will deliver much needed homes in a popular and well-connected area of Kilmarnock, helping to address the housing crisis, deliver affordable housing and assist East Ayrshire Council with their planned upgrades of the local primary school.”

The site will shortly be brought to the market by JLL accompanied by a full package of technical information and a draft decision notice and Section 75 legal agreement. Please direct any enquiries to Nina Stobie or Jamie Cowan at JLL; Nina.Stobie@jll.com or Jamie.Cowan@jll.com
